All the people are invited to present papers, according to the theme of the Symposium, of interest for practical application
for the economical and social development of both countries.
- Paper Submission: until March 10th, 2008
- Paper Acceptance: from April 08th, 2008
- Early Registration: until April 30th, 2008
Poster
Authors of selected papers are invited to present posters prepared according to further instructions.
Instructions For Papers
IMPORTANT
The SBPN invites all researchers interested in the Brazil-Japan Exchanging Symposium on Economy, Science and Technological Innovation to submit abstracts according to the instructions below.
All papers must be written in English.
1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Papers must be written in English. Use a word processor (MS Word for Windows) and to prepare the text on ISO A4 paper (210mm x 297mm). All text (except the title) must be 12 point Times font (Times New Roman). The title must be 18 point Times font. Use the top margin=20mm, botton margin=25mm, left margin=20mm, right margin=20mm and gutter width = 6 mm. Do not use bold or underline characters in the titles, subtitles or in the text. Use SI units. The maximum number of pages will be 8 (eight). All commercialism must be avoided. See an enclosed sample text following these guidelines for reference. All papers will be subject to peer review by the by Technical Committee.

The full paper title should be typed at the top of the
first page in 18 point Times font. One open line should follow the
title. The Author’s name(s), affiliation and Country should be typed
in 11 Times font.

KEYWORDS
The section “KEYWORDS” followed by a colon, then by one
space, and then by 3 to 5 keywords should follow the abstract. Leave
one open line between the abstract and the keyword section, and two
open lines between the keyword section and the coming text. The
keyword section should also run the width of both columns.

Number all headings as follows:

All headings must be numbered. Use nine spaces between the
left margin of the column and the title of the heading.

FIGURES/TABLES/EQUATIONS
Place illustrations within the text. Do not group illustrations at the end of the paper. Number illustrations (whether drawings or photographs) consecutively as they appear in the text and refer to them as “Figure 1”, “Figures 3 to 6”, etc. Illustrations can be one or two columns wide (including the gutter width). Illustrations should not be centered but placed against the left limit of the column. Paste illustrations in the appropriate places as required. Photographs should be glossy black and white prints. Lettering should be approximately the same size as the text. Examples of a table and a figure (including title position) can be found bellow.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Acknowledgements should be included under a section
heading "ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS". Do not number this section.
8 REFERENCES
The references within the text should be indicated by
the author's last name(s) and the year of publication, such as “Terzaghi
and Peck (1967)” (see sample paper for other alternatives). List all
references in alphabetical order of authors' names. Do not number
the heading "REFERENCES". The first line of each entry in the
reference list should not be indented, while the following lines
should have a two-space (12 point) indentation. Do not leave an open
line between references. Type the book titles and names of journals,
thesis, reports and conferences in italics, if possible. Examples:
